Tosca – “My First”

Let’s all relax for a little bit, after all the excitement of the previous posts….

Congorock – “Runark”

Download the new Congorock single right here:

This is nice and fun and interesting because it is not slicked out house and it isn’t some Diplo mashup shit. It’s just grimy, sweaty, ass-shaking, eye-socket-bulging, bass-filled techno. Go ahead, it feels good.

Tiny Masters of Today

News flash: Brooklyn tweens are being exploited!!! Amber alert!!! Tiny Masters of Today are two kids making fuzzy garage rock that sounds a whole lot more calculated than it is and have an album, Skeletons, coming out on Mute in June. And they’re already getting reworked, remixed, and helped out by the YYY’s, CSS, and Kimya Dawson. I’m shocked and appalled.

Listen here.

Odd Nosdam – T.I.M.E. Soundtrack

Any Anticon fans in the house? Over there, in the back? Odd Nosdam’s got a new album coming out this March, a soundtrack for an Element Skateboards film. Read my review here.

Listen: Fly Mode

Bibio – Vignetting the Compost

Bibio’s latest, Vignetting the Compost (Mush), is out now. His mix of electronic and field recordings is similar to Boards of Canada, but he leaves the beats behind. Read my review here.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Zero” Stream

There’s been some hullabaloo about the wrong YYY’s song being posted on various blogs, but here’s the right one. It’s called “Zero,” it’s from their new album (It’s a Blitz) due out in April, and you can stream it here:

Hmmm… sounds like The Cure and The Pretenders had a cute little baby.

Pigeon John and Flynn Adam are Rootbeer

West Coast hip-hop mainstay Pigeon John and some dude named Flynn Adam are joining forces as Rootbeer. They will release their debut EP, The Pink Limousine, on March 10, and hit the road for some tour dates. What’s it gonna sound like? Straight from the horse’s mouth: “MGMT injected with some N.E.R.D. and A Tribe Called Quest.”
